I FEEL FOR TED HAGGARD

Evangelical Leader Dismissed Amid Sex Scandal - AOL News

As far as I'm concerned, he is not a hypocrite. I've heard openly gay individuals declare that gay marriage should not be legal (rather civil unions instead). He is a christian who fell into a trap like many of us do. For some it's homosexuality, for others it could be heterosexual sin, drugs and or alcohol. The list could go on and on. Instead of branding him as a hypocrite, we should learn from his mistake (whatever that mistake was). Whatever we don't want to be revealed in the public eye, we should avoid it. Sinful desires should be dealt with as soon as they arise. Don't let them take root. Just look at what happened to Haggard. Don't be shocked at specific sinful temptations (like drugs, homosexuality, thoughts of violence or suicide). Christ was tempted on "every side." Should we expect not to be? Just fight them with the tools that God gave you. When you see a brother or sister fall, don't condemn...just pray and be a friend.

I did consider his accuser an opportunist. But could there be another side to that coin? Supposed that man had respect for God and the Bible (yes, it is possible for gays and lesbians to feel that way, LOL). Here comes Ted Haggard, a professing man of God, who does not share the Gospel of Christ with him but the gospel of sin. Think about it, how would you feel if you were Jones? Christians are supposed to be God's representatives. What Ted probably did was shatter any potential faith that Jones could have developed. We should pray for him too.

The end for now.
